Subroto is the Founder & CEO of this boutique Coaching firm, that firmly believes that Leaders are not born, they are made.

Subroto Mukherjee is the Founder and CEO of Moulting Caterpillar LLP. He is a professional Coach with over 2100 hours of coaching experience. His 180+ clients are spread across the globe, and work in diverse Industries and Organisations, including the UN. He considers Melbourne, Kolkata and Mumbai as his homes and shares his time between the three locations. Subroto is a Founding Trustee & Director on the Board of the ICF Kolkata Chapter and has developed and pioneered the DRAPE framework of coaching.
As a Coach, Subroto is credentialed PCC – ICF, SP -EMCC, MGSCC & MGLOF, Team Coach.
Subroto specializes in Coaching Leaders to help lead their Organizations and Teams to greater heights, to up the ante and claim their rightful place in the success stories that would be told in future. Subroto also coaches Leaders who find themselves at crossroads in their careers – the clarity he brings via his coaching helps individuals break through the proverbial glass ceiling, repair tattered workplace relationships and sometimes even pivot into completely uncharted and exciting pathways.
Moulting Caterpillar LLP also undertakes small batch Systemic Team Coaching engagements, wherein we coach Teams to look at their common goals in a Systemic manner, so as to align faster, collaborate better, feel psychologically safe and let go the self for the betterment and success of the whole. Subroto has close to 40 years of Leadership experience, leading men and women in a variety of roles and across multiple Industries. He spent his early years in the Indian Navy, where he honed his skills in Situational Leadership and led his teams through the thick and thin of Training, Disaster Management, National Strategy, Bilateral Undertakings and External Aggression. He is a Submariner and has Commanded two frontline warships. In addition, he has been the Chief Instructor at the prestigious Naval Academy, the first COO of India’s only Tri-Service Command and Liaison Officer to the Prime Minister, amongst other important appointments. He has also represented India and coordinated bi-lateral undertakings with the US Marine Corp, US Navy, Indonesian and Myanmar Navies.
Subroto’s Corporate career has seen him shoulder a number of CXO and Senior Management responsibilities. He has been COO at Synergy RMS Pvt Ltd; GM & Head of SBU at Orbit Corp Ltd; VP & Global Head of AFS at Cipla and Head of Operations ANZ Region at Cipla Aus Pty Ltd.
Subroto believes that regular and frequent upskilling is the mantra to stay ahead of the curve in today’s fast paced world. Subroto holds the following academic qualifications: PGCHRM – XLRI; PGDSM – NMIS; MSc (Def & Strategic Studies) – Madras University; BSc (Biochemistry) – Madras University; Blackbelt in Six Sigma – Benchmark Six Sigma; IGC (Occupational Health and Safety) – UK; Master of Corporate Real Estate – USA; Dip in Marine Engg – Naval College of Engg; Chartered Surveyor – Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, UK; Master Mariner First Class (Inland Vessels) – MMB.
